Train
We believe that to make training effective it has to be relevant, realistic and challenging. That's why we aim to use competition, games and high intensity exercises whenever possible. We avoid bus-stop drills and ensure our players have a ball at their feet as much as we can. Our coaches operate on a ball-rolling time of 70:30 which means less time listening to the coach and more time practicing the game we love.
Learn
Students learn best when the things they do are memorable, fun and engaging. We want all our players to come away from every session having learnt something new; whether that be a rule, a tactic, a skill, or a technique. We strive to create a positive atmosphere which is inclusive, energetic and above all conducive to learning.
Play
We understand that players love playing the game and trying to apply the new skills that they have learnt into a match. That's why we ensure all our sessions involve a games4understanding approach. We view match scenarios as an extension of their learning environment and will use a range of coaching techniques and communication devices to help facilitate their on-going development and progress.

I have participated in many training sessions with TTWYP during the off-season and was extremely impressed by the session organisation, professionalism, and the high-intensity levels throughout. Would definitely recommend to other players.

Our Story
TRAIN THE WAY YOU PLAY was an idea conceived in 2020 by a team of enthusiastic UEFA Qualified football coaches with a background in academy coaching and physical education. We have a passion for learning and a mission to grow the game by developing a love for learning in our players and through our high quality and innovative coaching resources.
TRAIN THE WAY YOU PLAY is more than just a coaching website, it is a way of approaching the coaching profession which encompasses the way we feel and think about the game.
“If you train badly you play badly. If you work like a beast in training you play the same way”.
